Call for Nominations
Jason Higgins, EUSPBA Recording Secretary, has been appointed chairman of the 2009 nominating committee. This committee consists of one representative from each of the six branches and no more than two Executive Committee members.
This year the following offices will be up for election:
- Treasurer (currently Jim Roberts)
- Executive Secretary (currently Carole Hackett, not running for reelection)
- Officer at Large (currently Helen Harlow)
You can make a real difference in our Association by running for one of these positions. If you have an interest, please contact your branch representative or chairman Jason Higgins to get more details.
Understand that nominations should NOT be taken lightly. There are many important skills that people must possess to hold these offices. Additionally they should realize the amount of time that must be spent working on EUSPBA matters.
We have had problems in the past where people have run for office and been elected, only to discover that once they are in the office they are not able to fulfill the duties required. All nominees must already be members in good standing of the EUSPBA.
Some important qualifications are good communication skills, computer skills (especially access to the internet and email during business days), knowledge of or familiarity with EUSPBA rules and procedures, and a willingness to participate in meetings (travel expenses are reimbursed).
